Fall is a great time to be in Madison, Wisconsin. Living at Park Cedar means you are in the heart of the city and near all the great activities taking place this fall. Explore Fall Colors 

Fall colors begin making their way through Madison starting in September. It is a great time to make the most of nature as the colors start to change, but the cold hasn’t taken hold just yet. Some of the best outdoor areas Madison has to offer include: 

UW–Madison Arboretum — This is a great local spot, with miles of trails and beautiful natural scenery to explore. Plus, the main drive to the arboretum features a beautiful forest of golden leaves that you don't want to miss. 

Olbrich Botanical Gardens — From wonderful public gardens to thoughtful events for the whole family, Olbrich is guaranteed to be a fun time. Check out their events page and sign up!
 

Make the Most of the Lakes 

Madison is surrounded by a number of beautiful lakes, which are excellent places to spend your time in September. From renting boats with family and friends to more adventurous activities such as swimming or stand-up boards, there is something for everyone. There are also a number of innovative markets featuring delicious food and fun art throughout September. Some of our favorites are: 

Dane County Farmers’ Market — Recurring weekly on Wednesday until Nov 4th. 

Madison Night Market – 9/17/26, 5pm – 9pm.

Seasonal Activities 

If you are looking for a fall seasonal activity to get into the fall spirit, check out these: 

Enchanted Valley Acres — Open from September 12th, Enchanted Valley Acres has an array of fun fall activities for all. In addition to pumpkin patches and food stands, it is also home to corn mazes, wagon rides, and giant slides. For more information on their opening times, see here.  

Warm Belly Farm – Open from 12th September through November 1st, visiting Warm Belly Farm is another great weekend activity for the whole family. Enjoy the pumpkin patch, corn maze, strawberry picking and even the sunflower fields. See more about the events taking place here.
